After a spike in deaths across the UK we responded by providing a series of social media assets centred around water safety in the West Midlands.

The recent fires in Stourbridge were inevitable, we knew it was coming just not where. These were social media posts and stories to bring awareness to the dangers of extreme heat and dry weather.

As an inclusive organisation serving a diverse community, West Midlands Fire Service is proud to have a workforce that reflects a wide range of backgrounds, including many Black and African colleagues.

To mark Black History Month, staff from across different roles were invited to share stories about Black individuals who have inspired them throughout their personal and professional journeys. These insights were brought together in a series of posters and social media assets, created to celebrate those voices and highlight their impact.

After a fatal fire in Coventry caused by Lithium-ion Batteries a campaign was devised to bring awareness of the dangers especially in day to day items.

The period of October to January of any year is a busy time for a fire service due to the use of naked flames, fire works and darker nights combined with alcohol consumption leads to more accidents and injury. A social media campaign is conducted each year to try and bring awareness of the dangers at this time of year.But also fun for a graphic designer.

One of the most effective ways of communicating an incident and informing the general public to avoid areas effected by a major incident is by social media.

Each of these animated social media images is designed to inform the general public of any risk or incidents in a local area.

A work in progress and hypothetical exercise in team building. If West midlands Fire Service went on a mission to Mars, which 11 members of staff would be nominated from the team and what values would they bring to make the mission a success? Members of the brigade both uniform and non-uniform can nominate colleagues and receive an award and gift.

Fire fighters face a demanding job, wether it’s the physical aspect of the role or the mental health issues it can throw up, not just for those on the thin red line but even the staff that support them.

West Midlands fire Service prides it’s self on its supporting occupational health and required a brand that reflects this area of the service.

A branding guidline for the UKRO Festival of Rescue 2022. Hosted by West Midlands Fire Service around the West Midlands at various venues for fire fighters from across the world to compete, demonstrate and share their life saving skills.

Social Media campaign for West midlands Fire Service. Aimed at the general public to encourage consumers to register their products in the event of a product recall by a manufacturer. This falls into the ‘prevention’ area of the fire service as a method of lowering risk of fault and potentially dangerous electrical equipment.

A huge contribution to West midlands Fire Services response can be down to mother nature. To help keep the public safe social media is an invaluable tool in communicated to the wider public of what threats can occur in the local area in inclement weather conditions.

From the early days of the 16 bit revolution of the Sega v’s Nintendo wars through to the battery eating wave of hand held consoles and the advent of next generation consoles with the Playstation 1.

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is NASA and the ESAs next generation Space Telescope. Inspired by its recent launch and my love of space exploration this design was an Instagram post and animated ‘story’ for my instagram page. Showing the capabilities and what we can expect from the JWST.

We’ve had a Hermes 3000 typewriter in the family for years, originally it was given to my sister to practice her typing, but eventually it became a much loved object dart that then found itself consigned to the attic to be forgotten. I recently found it in the attic and dug it out. After doing some research I found that is a much lorded and sort after machine that was used by William Kotzwinkle Larry McMurtry Sam Shepard, Eugène Ionesco, Stephen Fry and Beat writer Jack Kerouac. Also, this machine is converted by Tom Hanks and features heavily in the film California Typewriter.

I am a huge fan of Swiss design and designers like Joseph muller-brockmann have been hugely inspirational as well as educational in my journey as a designer and consider myself partly Swiss trained in design thanks to my early experiences with a Swiss design agency many years ago. To discover I had a original piece of 1960s Swiss design on my hands I felt inspired to create these 2 posters using my Hermes 3000 Typewriter.

After some research and advice from a very nice chap on Facebook I discovered the font used on the type heads on this machine is one of the more sort after font variants used on the Hermes 3000. No it is not for sale.

As a lover of electronic music in various genres and styles i have always wanted one of the originators of the hip-hop, acid house and techno sounds. These machines are beautiful and i have always wanted one. The realisation i will never own one or be able to afford one i illustrated them instead.

Educational content poster for each planet of our solar system. Breaking down each planet to a simple colours and identifiable shapes to allow easy recognition.

The audio of the animation is electromagnetic vibrations which pulsate in wavelengths from each planet. You can hear Uranus, the Moon and Io.

Off the back of the success of the ‘Tic-tac Attack!’ design on social media i wanted to explore the themes of UFOs further as well as make a nod to the classic era of comic books in the 1950s using 3D Magenta and Cyan anaglyph techniques used in comic books to create a 3D optical illusion.

In conjunction with Litro Magazine, each year IGGY.net ran a young writers competition based on a theme for your and gifted writers. Each years competition required a brand and illustrative style to match the given theme of that years competition.

To encourage participation and interaction with IGGY.net, users of the website could gain various achievements which they could transform into rewards with gift cards.

Each piece of content on IGGY.net required a page banner. Not all pieces of content was exciting as some, so my aim was to at least make them visually appealing to the user. They were also fun to produce.

T-Shirt illustrations for a weekly podcast covering UAP and UFO phenomena. Each design is based on a famous UFO/UAP encounter.

Each design is themed on a famous UFO encounter. Tic-Ta attack went on to be later worn by 2 of the most famous UFO witnesses in modern history who encountered the infamous Tic-Tac UFO in 2004 while serving on the USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier- cmdr David Fravor and Lt Alex Dietrich of the US Navy. Both who have since been featured in interviews on CBS 60 Minutes.

Fire fighting is divided into 3 areas. Prevention Protection and response. To communicate a prevention message animation is a valuable tool. they are also a lot of fun to create!

Series of illustrations for a children's interactive book app. A work in progress and a labour of love. i want to tell the story of the space race and the moon landings and all that came with it. Intended as an educational project but also an excuse to draw rockets.

Proposal for educational content that takes students into the world of space exploration. Launching a Go-Pro camera into the upper atmosphere, student subscribers, schools and school departments follow and join in in the making of their own ‘capsule’ to launch with a weather balloon.

Growing up on a diet of 1980s action films i became obsessed with the sinister and nefarious corporations behind some of these films protagonists. I wanted to create corporate identities as they would look historically. Worn VHS tapes was the flavour for this project.
